Big sister

I am an older sister like Kieran, I sometimes look at her and think of what it was like for me being the oldest. But what a difference to look at Kayleigh as the younger sister and see how much she loves her older sister. Tonight she was sitting on the bed next to Kieran while Kieran read with her Leap Frog Tag. I told Kayleigh, "You can sit in the same bed with Kieran so you can see better". So she hopped in and that's when I took these pictures.
So cute you two, Mommy sure loves you!

Silly faces

While taking a bath tonight I was video taping Kayleigh and Kayman drinking up the water and spitting it at each other. Oh what fun it will be when they are older to show them that tape with that soapy water and them sticking their faces in it, snot and all and spitting at one another, then laughing hysterically!

Mommy do you still love me

So today before we left for Church Kayleigh came up to me and asked, "Mommy do you like me?" "Of course I do!" I said. I'm not sure where she came up with that, but then during our devotion & prayer meeting before Sunday School she was acting up while Pastor Dustin was speaking. I took her into a room and was scolding her. She says, "Mommy do you love me?" What's up with that! So I told her that yes I love her, but she has to listen to Mommy when she tells you to be quiet.
This is a picture of Kayleigh today. We are having an issue with what I believe is craddle cap. Kayleigh will be 4 in August and she still has so little hair. I think it might be due to build up on her scalp. So I am trying olive oil, a suggestion of her Abuela and we shall see if that does the trick. Hopefully she will eventually need a hair cut, instead of watching her brother and sister's hair grow so much longer than hers!

mealtime woes

Seriously how do you get your kids to eat! Why is dinner such a battle. Right now we are going on 45 minutes at the dinner table. And of course Kayleigh who has always liked carrots, etc. now has decided she doesn't like them because her oldest sister doesn't. UGH!!!
Dogs are a distractions, cousins, etc.
Now Kayleigh is crying at the table asking why "Aly & Dana are not a part of the family" these are our dogs.
Oh and now she is putting her green beans in her chocolate milk! After giving her the evil eye, her quick response is "sorry" with a twinkle in her eye.
Their food has to be cold by now, I think it's time for bed!
Good night everyone and we shall see what tomorrow brings me.

bedtime woes

Lately we are having a battle at bedtime with Kayleigh, she cries on and on about not wanting to go to bed. She makes up every excuse as to why she doesn't want to, what body part hurts and needs medicine, brushing teeth, reading books, taking a bath, etc.
Although bedtime can be a challenge with Kayleigh, the cutest thing she does every night, is after I pray with her, she says her prayer. You can barely make out what she says as she whispers ever so quietly. But she is very serious about her prayers to God. I can sometimes hear her thanking God for things, praying about me, her Daddy, and other people.
The picture in this post was just taken as I was writing this, once again Kayleigh came out of her room as she does on many a night to tell me something, tonight is was that her tummy hurt...though I know it doesn't really. It's so hard not to laugh when she comes out wearing yellow & green sunglasses at night! Then she decided she forgot to brush her teeth. Ugh, good night Kayleigh!
And of course every night, I go into her room to turn off their light and she has fallen asleep with a book in her hands.
This morning during the Women's Bible Study I facilitate at our home she came up to me and said, "Mommy I have to tell you something." She knows she's supposed to stay in the other room while we discuss and watch the video for that week but she had to whisper in my ear..."Mommy, I love you."
Little stinker!

No That's my pee pee

Uncle Daniel heard this little voice saying..."No this is my pee pee, you can't have my pee pee."
He thought what is she talking about, so he opened the door and saw these two little legs dangling from the toilet. There at the door were Dana & Aly our two dogs, and Kayleigh was telling them they couldn't have her pee pee!

Yesterday Kayleigh and our niece were playing Barbie's. They were talking about Chi Chi's & ninies. Kayleigh said, "Mommy you have Chi Chi's, right?" I said "Yes, Kayleigh" our niece said "no Kayleigh Chi Chi's are called ninies." Kayleigh said, "No they're called Chi Chi's" Our niece said "Yeah, but big Chi Chi's are called ninies."

Kayleigh's Antics

After seeing the movie Julie & Julia I thought you know our middle child gives us so much on a daily basis to laugh, cry, discuss, etc. I really should write a blog about the daily adventures with her.
just a side note to our beautiful oldest daughter Kieran and youngest son, you both give us such daily joy and we love you beyond words, your sister being the middle child seems to keep us a little more on our toes!
This is probably the first major incident pictured that we should have realized then what we were in for.
This is Kayleigh in May of 2008, while I was feeding her little brother she got into this jar of Vaseline. Covered barely able to see she came walking into the room caring this. She simply said, "Hi Mommy"
It took 10 days of bathing, by the way DAWN dishwashing liquid is what did the trick.
I hope those reading will enjoy our adventure!
